We are Shariff and Maureen. We have been together for 7 years and live with our Bordeaux dog Moos in Joure, Friesland. Besides Néarr, we both have another business. Shariff works as a shepherd in the Drents-Fryske Wold landscape, and Maureen runs a webshop selling gemstones for interior decoration and helps other entrepreneurs with branding.

Shariff is half Egyptian, half Dutch, and had long dreamed of collaborating with his homeland. From that wish, Néarr was born: a brand of 100% Egyptian cotton bedding, straight from our own workshop in Egypt.

Our mission? To deliver high-quality bedding with attention to people and the environment. We believe in fair production, craftsmanship, and telling real stories. With Néarr, we not only want to share a beautiful product but also contribute to improving living conditions for the people behind the scenes.

At Néarr, everything revolves around quality and conscious choices. We produce in Egypt. Not only because the world's best cotton grows there, but also because it allows us to bring the craft back to its source and reduce our ecological footprint.

Egyptian cotton is known as the most luxurious type of cotton in the world. It grows along the Nile, where the climate, fertile soil, and knowledge of local growers come together. The extra-long fibers make the cotton softer, stronger, and more durable than other types. You can immediately feel that in our bedding: breathable, soft, and suitable for every season. Cool in summer, warm in winter.
